TruckRight and the Fleet Safety Council Announce Two New Ontario-Wide Awards
The Fleet Safety Council (FSC) and TruckRight are excited to announce that they have entered into a five-year partnership to bring the trucking industry in Ontario two major awards for Driver of the Year and Safety Professional of the Year.
These new “overall” awards for the province will recognize two professionals who are a credit to themselves, their employer and the transportation industry as a whole. The winner of each award will receive a trophy, a leather jacket, and a $2,500 prize.
“When the opportunity to partner on these awards came up, we jumped at the chance,” says Dirk Kupar, president and co-founder of TruckRight. “Our industry can’t do enough to recognize the outstanding people who go above and beyond to make our roads safer, and act as ambassadors for what we do. There’s nobody better to provide this recognition than the Fleet Safety Council, and we’re very pleased to help set the program up for five full years.” The criteria for the awards include safe driving records, excellent customer relations, volunteering and community work, high personal integrity, acts of bravery and the promotion of transportation safety.
“The nomination progress is rigorous, so these awards will recognize some truly amazing people,” says Rick Brown of the Fleet Safety Council. “Laddering it up from the regional chapters to the province as a whole is long overdue, and I’d like to thank TruckRight for helping us make it happen.”
